  • A mixed-media painting depicting two Hereford cattle — a larger horned cow and a smaller calf — rendered in realistic detail against a vibrant, gestural abstract background. The animals are painted with soft, pale faces and warm brown ears, their heads close together in a tender, companionable pose. The background bursts with expressive brushwork in purples, blues, teals, and greens, with splashes of red, pink, and yellow adding energy to the composition. The contrast between the carefully rendered animals and the loose, painterly backdrop creates a dynamic tension between calm and chaos.

In the foreground, golden-brown marsh grasses and shrubs with touches of rust and amber line the edges of a calm body of water that reflects the blue sky above. The muted earth tones of the wetland contrast with the vibrant sky, creating a serene, expansive mood.
